  • Alessio Soldano, JBoss Web Services Lead (Red Hat - JBoss)

    Alessio Soldano was born in Varese, Italy in 1979 and graduated with a degree in Computer Science Engineering from 'Politecnico di Milano'. He appreciated Java since the first time he used it at the university while playing with early webservice implementations. In 2004 he started working on distributed systems in the financial/credit field and fell in love with JBoss. After years of practice with J2EE, he got the chance to deal with webservices again, contributed to JBossWS finding and fixing some bugs. He finally joined JBoss (a division of Red Hat) at the end of 2007 to work full time on the webservice project, currently serving as its lead. He also contributes to JBoss AS and JBoss Wise (which he founded years ago with a friend and recently donated to JBoss). Starting from 2009, Alessio represents Red Hat Middleware on JSR-224 'JavaTM API for XML-Based Web Services (JAX-WS) 2.0' expert group.

  • Alef Arendsen SpringSource co-founder and JTeam Director (SpringSource/JTeam)

    Alef Arendsen has been involved with Spring as a committer since the very early beginnings and is one of the co-founders of SprinSource. After having helped out code the core framework, he shifted into training people and doing other technical marketing related activities. He traveled Europe to help out clients and speak about Spring and related technologies for about 4 years. These days, although still slightly involved with SpringSource, he's active as a Strategic Advisor to JTeam, an Amsterdam-based project company.
